How to attract graffiti: your first graffiti piece in 7 steps : You have redrawn your first Graffiti? You have created the first Tag? Nice! So let’s move on !. Graffiti Pieces have become complex. To begin , I would recommend you to definitely take your tag and transform it in a Graffiti Piece. Every Graffiti Piece is made up of these parts: 1. The Fill-In: colored areas 2. the outline: colored or black line around the fill-ins 3. a 3D-shadow 4. experience 5. a second outline across the whole piece 6. optionally: the tag name from the sprayer 7. optionally: highlights 8. optionally: the season of creation.

I use these materials: 1. regular sheet of paper – e.g.: printing paper 2. soft uncolored eraser 3. pencil with 2B mine hardness 4. Fine Liners for Highlights and small areas 5. Copic Markers Multiliner 0.5 for outlines 6. At least a basis group of Copic Ciao markers for Fill-ins. I have the important set of Copic Ciao markers markers!. So, let’s dive straight into it:

STEP 1: Trace your graffiti tag. If you used a marker you`ll likely look out of the Graffiti Tag should you put a small note about it . So a task is it to follow the perimeters from the lines which has a pencil. But leave a small amount of space between the edge in the marker plus your new pencil line. So the letter gets bigger. The result need to look much like the image shown below. Not that bad actually, but you want to improve.

STEP 2: Improve the graffiti. The form with the whole Graffiti is essential also . The “E” at the start is larger as opposed to “R” in the end . So I made a decision to help it become smaller and add arrows on both sides to allow it to be a tight form.(red) I also added serifs or made them more complicated .(blue circles). In typography, a serif may be the small extra stroke available at the conclusion in the main vertical and horizontal strokes of some letters. In Graffiti it`s easy to make use of them to make you Piece more complicated . I also added forms which enhance the dynamic from the graffiti and make it more complicated.

The result looks like the image below. This step usually implies a great deal of trials and errors and takes a little while . So don’t be sad if your Graffiti immediately doesn`t seem like you wish to . Even should you are practised to draw in Graffiti, this step will need some time and intensive use from the eraser.

STEP 3: Redraw the lines having a fineliner. The next step is much easier . Take your Copic Markers Multiliner 0.5 or perhaps a Fineliner pen and redraw your pencil lines. Wait a while afterwards to allow the colour dry and after that erase all of the pencil lines. The result should look like this.

A cheap printer with copy function like Canon PIXMA MG3620 or possibly a similar product should do the job . I use a previous version of the printer series and it works well but there are numerous others which work quite similar.

STEP 4: Color your graffiti piece. To make the coloring more advanced , I recommend you to definitely always draw gradients. In this case i colored the entire Graffiti Piece in one big gradient. If you would like to help make your piece to appear even more complex , you will have to include a different gradient to each letter. The Copic Ciao markers are very good for drawing gradients. I have not achieved it with another marker yet.

Which color scheme to decide on ? In general I recommend that you use complementary colors for – foreground and background – or – fill-ins and shadows. If you would like to use more colors, you should employ colors from the color shade of a single in the 2 colors or near to them on the colour wheel. You can also just look for a Graffiti inside our blog or on Google Image search and copy the colour scheme. If you are a beginner, this process might fit well.

STEP 5: Drawing the shadows Choose a point below the Graffiti where each of the shadow blocks cause . Like shown in the photo below. Now choose how big the blocks ought to be . I took 1,5cm (1/2 inches) as length in this case .

Now take a ruler and tap into every corner in the Graffiti a single .5cm (1/2 inches) long line towards the chosen point. Then, connect the lines parallel towards the Graffiti outline. The results are blocks, which you can fill with color.

Fill the Blocks with black. If you want more complex shadows you can fake light spots with brighter areas in the middle transitioning to dark areas about the outside like done inside the example.

STEP 6: Second outline and background The term “Second outline” describes the fishing line around the whole Graffiti. In this case I choose the complementary color to orange – blue. As an identification I added bubbles and drips inside same color.

STEP 7: Optionally add highlights, your name-tag and the season of creation The gradient as Fill-In maybe is simply too boring or seems not complex enough. So you can additional add lines and shapes above the Fill-In. Common shapes are bubbles, rectangles, arrows, refelections or outlines of shapes. Usually these are colored in a darker color shade with the color below ones . They can also be added towards the background.

To complete your artwork, add your Name-Tag and the year of creation. If you are or would have been a an affiliate a crew, then add the abbreviation of one`s crew.

Draw a tag. After you have done the first Graffiti, go to our Collection of Graffiti Letters. Think about a name you would like to use like a sprayer. No ideas yet? Just start using your real name! I provide several designs for every letter. You can search for letters by simply clicking the buttons on top . Create a Graffiti Tag in this way . So step-by-step : 1. obtain a marker now ; not only a pencil; Tags look way better if you use the best marker – I used a Edding 500 Marker to the example Tag below. The Grog Cutter 08 XFP – Death Black can be a very good marker at the same time and way cheaper . 2. have a notepad 3. Go to our collection of Graffiti Letters 4. Search for your letters on your name Example. I choose the word “Ether”. 5. You can optionally add drips, arrows and big serifs as highlights for your Tag like I did.

In the first part I will mention how I started and provide a primary hint how to begin out. The second part is often a tutorial, which can be divided into two parts. The first part provides the steps in your first Graffiti Tag. The second an example may be about transforming the Graffiti Tag in a Graffiti Piece. Let’s go!

How I started to draw graffiti. Starting-out is always difficult. This is why I want to explain how I made it happen . My first Graffiti was “Limp Bizkit” from your album cover from “Significant other”. Do you know it? I loved the band yet still love em and decided to draw in it since it impressed me. I was lucky and was quite pleased with my first drawing.

So this can be my first job for you is: 1. get a pencil 2. have a sheet of paper 3. have an eraser 4. find a Graffiti that suits you with Google Image Search, in which you can certainly identify the letters. For Instance “simple style Graffiti” could be used as a search phrase . 5. and draw it!

Maybe you may need a handful of tries at the start . This is not even attempt to be worried about . Noone is a professional straight away . So practice, practice, practice, practice! I know you will make it!
