STEP 1: Trace your graffiti tag. If you used a marker you`ll likely see through the Graffiti Tag in case you put a notepad on it . So a task is it to follow the edges with the lines using a pencil. But leave a little bit of space relating to the edge with the marker along with your new pencil line. So the letter gets bigger. The result need to look such as the image shown below. Not that bad actually, but we would like to improve.

STEP 2: Improve the graffiti. The form in the whole Graffiti is vital too . The “E” at the start is bigger compared to the “R” in the end . So I chose to help it become smaller and add arrows on both sides to ensure it is a concise form.(red) I also added serifs or made them more advanced .(blue circles). In typography, a serif is the small extra stroke found at the finish with the main vertical and horizontal strokes of some letters. In Graffiti you frequently use them to cause you to Piece more complex . I also added forms which help the dynamic with the graffiti and help it become more technical.

The result looks like the image below. This step usually implies a lot of trials and errors and takes time . So don’t be sad when the Graffiti immediately does not look like you would like to . Even if you are practised to draw Graffiti, this step will need time and intensive use from the eraser.

STEP 3: Redraw the lines having a fineliner. The next step is much easier . Take your Copic Markers Multiliner 0.5 or possibly a Fineliner pen and redraw your pencil lines. Wait a while afterwards to allow the colour dry after which erase all of the pencil lines. The result may need to look like this.

A cheap printer with copy function like Canon PIXMA MG3620 or possibly a similar product have to do the job . I use a previous version of the printer series and delay well but there are lots of others which work quite similar.

STEP 4: Color your graffiti piece. To make the coloring more complicated , I recommend that you always draw gradients. In this case i colored the full Graffiti Piece in a single big gradient. If you need to you could make your piece to take a look even more advanced , you`ll have to give a different gradient to every one letter. The Copic Ciao markers are extremely beneficial to drawing gradients. I have not achieved it with another marker yet.

Which color scheme to pick ? In general I recommend that you use complementary colors for – foreground and background – or – fill-ins and shadows. If you need to use more colors, you need to use colors in the color shade of a single with the 2 colors or near them on the color wheel. You can also just search for a Graffiti within our blog or on Google Image search and copy large scheme. If you are a beginner, this approach might fit well.

STEP 5: Drawing the shadows Choose a place below the Graffiti where every one of the shadow blocks lead to . Like shown within the photo below. Now choose what size the blocks must be . I took 1,5cm (1/2 inches) as length in such cases .

Now please take a ruler and combine every corner with the Graffiti a 1 .5cm (1/2 inches) long line to the chosen point. Then, connect the lines parallel for the Graffiti outline. The results are blocks, which you`ll want to fill with color.

Fill the Blocks with black. If you want more advanced shadows you can contribute fake light spots with brighter areas within the middle transitioning to dark areas around the outside like done in the example.

STEP 6: Second outline and background The term “Second outline” describes the line throughout the whole Graffiti. In this case I choose the complementary color to orange – blue. As an identification I added bubbles and drips inside same color.

STEP 7: Optionally add highlights, your name-tag and 4 seasons of creation The gradient as Fill-In maybe is just too boring or seems not complex enough. So you can additional add lines and shapes across the Fill-In. Common shapes are bubbles, rectangles, arrows, refelections or outlines of shapes. Usually they may be colored in a very darker color shade of the color below of which . They can also be added for the background.

To complete your artwork, add your Name-Tag and the year of creation. If you are or would have been a person in a crew, then also add the abbreviation of your crew.

How I started to attract graffiti. Starting-out is always difficult. This is why I want to explain how I made it happen . My first Graffiti was “Limp Bizkit” through the album cover from “Significant other”. Do you know it? I loved the band yet still love em and decided to draw in it given it impressed me. I was lucky and was quite delighted by my first drawing.

So this can be my first part of you is: 1. have a pencil 2. obtain a piece of paper 3. get an eraser 4. visit a Graffiti that suits you with Google Image Search, that you can easily identify the letters. For Instance “simple style Graffiti” could be used like a search phrase . 5. and draw it!

Maybe you need a handful of tries at the start . This is not even attempt to worry about . Noone is a professional immediately . So practice, practice, practice, practice! I know you`ll make it!

In the first part I will discuss how I started and provide a first hint how to begin out. The second part is often a tutorial, that is split into two parts. The first part offers the steps for your first Graffiti Tag. The second the first is about transforming the Graffiti Tag right into a Graffiti Piece. Let’s go!

How to draw graffiti: the first graffiti piece in 7 steps : You have redrawn the first Graffiti? You have created the first Tag? Nice! So let’s go forward !. Graffiti Pieces are incredibly complex. To begin , I would recommend that you take your tag and transform it in a Graffiti Piece. Every Graffiti Piece consists of these parts: 1. The Fill-In: colored areas 2. the outline: colored or black line round the fill-ins 3. a 3D-shadow 4. experience 5. another outline round the whole piece 6. optionally: the tag name from the sprayer 7. optionally: highlights 8. optionally: the entire year of creation.

I use these materials: 1. regular sheet of paper – e.g.: printing paper 2. soft uncolored eraser 3. pencil with 2B mine hardness 4. Fine Liners for Highlights and small areas 5. Copic Markers Multiliner 0.5 for outlines 6. At least a basis pair of Copic Ciao markers for Fill-ins. I have the big list of Copic Ciao markers markers!. So, let’s dive right into it:

Draw your first tag. After you have done a Graffiti, check out our Collection of Graffiti Letters. Think about a name you want to use being a sprayer. No ideas yet? Just start off along with your real name! I provide several designs for every letter. You can search for letters by simply clicking the buttons on the top . Create the first Graffiti Tag using this method . So detail by detail : 1. get a marker this time around ; not really a pencil; Tags look much better if you utilize the best marker – I used a Edding 500 Marker for your example Tag below. The Grog Cutter 08 XFP – Death Black can be a very good marker also and more cost effective . 2. get a notepad 3. Go to our number of Graffiti Letters 4. Search to the letters for your name Example. I choose the word “Ether”. 5. You can optionally add drips, arrows and big serifs as highlights for a Tag like I did.
