Draw your first tag. After you have done the first Graffiti, go to our Collection of Graffiti Letters. Think about a name you need to use as a sprayer. No ideas yet? Just start out using your real name! I provide several designs per letter. You can search for letters by simply clicking on the buttons on top . Create the first Graffiti Tag this way . So in depth : 1. have a marker now ; not only a pencil; Tags look a lot better if you use the correct marker – I used a Edding 500 Marker for the example Tag below. The Grog Cutter 08 XFP – Death Black is really a very good marker too and way cheaper . 2. obtain a notepad 3. Go to our variety of Graffiti Letters 4. Search for that letters on your name Example. I choose the word “Ether”. 5. You can optionally add drips, arrows and big serifs as highlights to your Tag like I did.

How to draw in graffiti: a graffiti piece in 7 steps : You have redrawn your first Graffiti? You have created the first Tag? Nice! So let’s move on !. Graffiti Pieces are incredibly complex. To start off , I would recommend one to take your tag and transform it in a Graffiti Piece. Every Graffiti Piece consists of the subsequent parts: 1. The Fill-In: colored areas 2. the outline: colored or black line across the fill-ins 3. a 3D-shadow 4. an identification 5. an additional outline across the whole piece 6. optionally: the tag name from the sprayer 7. optionally: highlights 8. optionally: the entire year of creation.

I use the next materials: 1. regular small note – e.g.: printing paper 2. soft uncolored eraser 3. pencil with 2B mine hardness 4. Fine Liners for Highlights and small areas 5. Copic Markers Multiliner 0.5 for outlines 6. At least a basis pair of Copic Ciao markers for Fill-ins. I have the important set of Copic Ciao markers markers!. So, let’s dive straight to it:

In the first part I will speak about how I started and provide the first hint how to start out. The second part is a tutorial, which can be separated into two parts. The first part provides the steps for a first Graffiti Tag. The second one is about transforming the Graffiti Tag right into a Graffiti Piece. Let’s go!

STEP 1: Trace your graffiti tag. If you used a marker you will likely look out of the Graffiti Tag in the event you put a sheet of paper about it . So your first task could it be in order to the sides with the lines using a pencil. But leave a little bit of space involving the edge in the marker plus your new pencil line. So the letter gets bigger. The result may need to look such as the image shown below. Not that bad actually, but we want to improve.

STEP 2: Improve the graffiti. The form from the whole Graffiti is essential too . The “E” at the beginning is bigger compared to the “R” eventually . So I decided to ensure it is smaller and add arrows on both sides to help it become a compressed form.(red) I also added serifs or made them more advanced .(blue circles). In typography, a serif could be the small extra stroke available at the finish in the main vertical and horizontal strokes of some letters. In Graffiti it`s easy to rely on them to allow you to Piece more advanced . I also added forms which help the dynamic with the graffiti and allow it to be more complicated.

The result looks such as the image below. This step usually implies lots of trials and errors and takes some time . So don’t be sad if your Graffiti immediately doesn`t resemble you would like to . Even in case you are practised to attract Graffiti, this step will need time and intensive use of the eraser.

STEP 3: Redraw the lines having a fineliner. The next step is easier . Take your Copic Markers Multiliner 0.5 or possibly a Fineliner pen and redraw your pencil lines. Wait some time afterwards to allow the color dry and then erase every one of the pencil lines. The result need to look similar to this.

A cheap printer with copy function like Canon PIXMA MG3620 or a similar product must do the project . I use a previous version of the printer series and delay well but there are numerous others which work quite similar.

STEP 4: Color your graffiti piece. To make the coloring more advanced , I recommend you to definitely always draw gradients. In this case i colored the complete Graffiti Piece a single big gradient. If you need to help make your piece to look even more complicated , you will have to put in a different gradient to each letter. The Copic Ciao markers are extremely beneficial to drawing gradients. I have not achieved it with another marker yet.

Which color scheme to pick ? In general I recommend you to definitely use complementary colors for – foreground and background – or – fill-ins and shadows. If you wish to use more colors, you need to use colors through the color shade of one of the 2 colors or near to them on the colour wheel. You can also just find a Graffiti within our blog or on Google Image search and copy along with scheme. If you are a beginner, this approach might fit well.

STEP 5: Drawing the shadows Choose a place below the Graffiti where each of the shadow blocks lead to . Like shown inside photo below. Now choose how big is the blocks ought to be . I took 1,5cm (1/2 inches) as length in cases like this .

Now require a ruler and tap into every corner with the Graffiti single .5cm (1/2 inches) long line towards the chosen point. Then, connect the lines parallel on the Graffiti outline. The results are blocks, which you`ll want to fill with color.

Fill the Blocks with black. If you want more complex shadows you can include fake light spots with brighter areas inside the middle transitioning to dark areas around the outside like done inside example.

STEP 6: Second outline and background The term “Second outline” describes the fishing line across the whole Graffiti. In this case I choose the complementary color to orange – blue. As a credentials I added bubbles and drips inside same color.

STEP 7: Optionally add highlights, your name-tag and the season of creation The gradient as Fill-In maybe is way too boring or seems not complex enough. So you can additional add lines and shapes across the Fill-In. Common shapes are bubbles, rectangles, arrows, refelections or outlines of shapes. Usually they`re colored inside a darker color shade of the color below of these . They can even be added towards the background.

To complete your artwork, add your Name-Tag and the season of creation. If you are or will be a part of a crew, then include the abbreviation of your respective crew.

How I started to draw graffiti. Starting-out is definitely difficult. This is why I want to explain how I made it happen . My first Graffiti was “Limp Bizkit” through the album cover from “Significant other”. Do you know it? I loved the band but still love em and decided to attract it as it impressed me. I was lucky and was quite delighted by my first drawing.

So that is my first part of you is: 1. obtain a pencil 2. get a piece of paper 3. get an eraser 4. visit a Graffiti you want with Google Image Search, in which you can readily identify the letters. For Instance “simple style Graffiti” might be used as a key word . 5. and draw it!

Maybe you might need a few tries at the start . This is absolutely nothing to be worried about . Noone is really a professional right away . So practice, practice, practice, practice! I know you`ll make it!
