How I started to draw graffiti. Starting-out is definitely difficult. This is why I want to explain how I did it . My first Graffiti was “Limp Bizkit” from your album cover from “Significant other”. Do you know it? I loved this guitar rock band yet still love em and decided to draw it as it impressed me. I was lucky and was quite delighted by my first drawing.

So this can be my first job for you is: 1. obtain a pencil 2. get a small note 3. get an eraser 4. visit a Graffiti that suits you with Google Image Search, in which you can simply identify the letters. For Instance “simple style Graffiti” could possibly be used as a search term . 5. and draw it!

Maybe you might need a couple of tries at the start . This is absolutely nothing to worry about . Noone can be a professional straight away . So practice, practice, practice, practice! I know you will make it!

STEP 1: Trace your graffiti tag. If you used a marker you`ll probably predict the Graffiti Tag in case you put a small note about it . So your first task can it be to trace the perimeters in the lines which has a pencil. But leave a little bit of space involving the edge in the marker as well as your new pencil line. So the letter gets bigger. The result need to look much like the image shown below. Not that bad actually, but you want to improve.

STEP 2: Improve the graffiti. The form of the whole Graffiti is essential also . The “E” at the start is greater compared to the “R” in the end . So I thought we would ensure it is smaller and add arrows on both sides to make it a concise form.(red) I also added serifs or made them more complex .(blue circles). In typography, a serif is the small extra stroke available at the conclusion of the main vertical and horizontal strokes of some letters. In Graffiti you often have used them to make you Piece more complex . I also added forms which improve the dynamic with the graffiti and ensure it is more complicated.

The result looks just like the image below. This step usually implies lots of trials and errors and takes some time . So don’t be sad if your Graffiti immediately won`t seem like you wish to . Even should you are practised to draw in Graffiti, this will need some time and intensive use with the eraser.

STEP 3: Redraw the lines using a fineliner. The next step is much simpler . Take your Copic Markers Multiliner 0.5 or perhaps a Fineliner pen and redraw your pencil lines. Wait some time afterwards to allow large dry and then erase each of the pencil lines. The result will want to look like this.

A cheap printer with copy function like Canon PIXMA MG3620 or perhaps a similar product ought to do the work . I use a previous version on this printer series and delay well but there are various others which work quite similar.

STEP 4: Color your graffiti piece. To make the coloring more complicated , I recommend that you always draw gradients. In this case i colored the whole Graffiti Piece in a single big gradient. If you wish to make your piece to appear even more complex , you will need to include a different gradient to every letter. The Copic Ciao markers are incredibly best for drawing gradients. I have not achieved it with another marker yet.

Which color scheme to pick ? In general I recommend you to use complementary colors for – foreground and background – or – fill-ins and shadows. If you would like to use more colors, you should use colors from your color shade of a single with the 2 colors or close to them on the color wheel. You can also just look for a Graffiti inside our blog or on Google Image search and copy the colour scheme. If you are a beginner, this approach might fit well.

STEP 5: Drawing the shadows Choose a place below the Graffiti where all of the shadow blocks bring about . Like shown inside the photo below. Now choose what size the blocks must be . I took 1,5cm (1/2 inches) as length in this instance .

Now please take a ruler and draw from every corner of the Graffiti a 1 hour .5cm (1/2 inches) long line to the chosen point. Then, connect the lines parallel on the Graffiti outline. The results are blocks, which you can fill with color.

Fill the Blocks with black. If you want more complex shadows you can include fake light spots with brighter areas in the middle transitioning to dark areas about the outside like done inside example.

STEP 6: Second outline and background The term “Second outline” describes the fishing line around the whole Graffiti. In this case I choose the complementary color to orange – blue. As an identification I added bubbles and drips within the same color.

STEP 7: Optionally add highlights, your name-tag and the year of creation The gradient as Fill-In maybe is simply too boring or seems not complex enough. So you can additional add lines and shapes across the Fill-In. Common shapes are bubbles, rectangles, arrows, refelections or outlines of shapes. Usually they are colored in the darker color shade from the color below of them . They can also be added for the background.

To complete your artwork, add your Name-Tag and the year of creation. If you are or will be a an affiliate a crew, then also add the abbreviation of one`s crew.

How to attract graffiti: your first graffiti piece in 7 steps : You have redrawn your first Graffiti? You have created a Tag? Nice! So let’s proceed !. Graffiti Pieces have become complex. To begin , I would recommend you to definitely take your tag and transform it right into a Graffiti Piece. Every Graffiti Piece includes these parts: 1. The Fill-In: colored areas 2. the outline: colored or black line around the fill-ins 3. a 3D-shadow 4. a credentials 5. another outline around the whole piece 6. optionally: the tag name with the sprayer 7. optionally: highlights 8. optionally: 4 seasons of creation.

I use the next materials: 1. regular sheet of paper – e.g.: printing paper 2. soft uncolored eraser 3. pencil with 2B mine hardness 4. Fine Liners for Highlights and small areas 5. Copic Markers Multiliner 0.5 for outlines 6. At least a basis list of Copic Ciao markers for Fill-ins. I have the big set of Copic Ciao markers markers!. So, let’s dive straight into it:

Draw the first tag. After you have done a Graffiti, check out our Collection of Graffiti Letters. Think about a name you wish to use like a sprayer. No ideas yet? Just start using your real name! I provide several designs for each and every letter. You can search for letters by hitting the buttons on the top . Create the first Graffiti Tag by doing this . So step by step : 1. get yourself a marker this time around ; not only a pencil; Tags look a lot better the use of the best marker – I used a Edding 500 Marker to the example Tag below. The Grog Cutter 08 XFP – Death Black is often a very good marker as well and more cost effective . 2. get yourself a sheet of paper 3. Go to our variety of Graffiti Letters 4. Search to the letters on your name Example. I choose the word “Ether”. 5. You can optionally add drips, arrows and big serifs as highlights to your Tag like I did.

In the first part I will mention how I started and provide a first hint how to begin out. The second part is often a tutorial, which is separated into two parts. The first part has the steps for your first Graffiti Tag. The second an example may be about transforming the Graffiti Tag right into a Graffiti Piece. Let’s go!
