In the first part I will discuss how I started and provide the first hint the place to start out. The second part is really a tutorial, which is split into two parts. The first part has the steps in your first Graffiti Tag. The second you are about transforming the Graffiti Tag in to a Graffiti Piece. Let’s go!

How I started to attract graffiti. Starting-out is usually difficult. This is why I want to explain how I made it happen . My first Graffiti was “Limp Bizkit” in the album cover from “Significant other”. Do you know it? I loved this rock band yet still love em and decided to attract it given it impressed me. I was lucky and was quite satisfied with my first drawing.

So this is my first part of you is: 1. get a pencil 2. get a piece of paper 3. experience an eraser 4. look for a Graffiti that suits you with Google Image Search, where you can simply identify the letters. For Instance “simple style Graffiti” may be used as a search phrase . 5. and draw it!

Maybe you need a handful of tries in the beginning . This is not even attempt to worry about . Noone is a professional immediately . So practice, practice, practice, practice! I know you will make it!

How to draw in graffiti: the first graffiti piece in 7 steps : You have redrawn the first Graffiti? You have created a Tag? Nice! So let’s go forward !. Graffiti Pieces are very complex. To begin , I would recommend that you take your tag and transform it into a Graffiti Piece. Every Graffiti Piece is made up of the next parts: 1. The Fill-In: colored areas 2. the outline: colored or black line across the fill-ins 3. a 3D-shadow 4. experience 5. an additional outline across the whole piece 6. optionally: the tag name of the sprayer 7. optionally: highlights 8. optionally: the season of creation.

I use the following materials: 1. regular piece of paper – e.g.: printing paper 2. soft uncolored eraser 3. pencil with 2B mine hardness 4. Fine Liners for Highlights and small areas 5. Copic Markers Multiliner 0.5 for outlines 6. At least a basis list of Copic Ciao markers for Fill-ins. I have the large group of Copic Ciao markers markers!. So, let’s dive straight into it:

Draw the first tag. After you have done a Graffiti, head to our Collection of Graffiti Letters. Think about a name you wish to use as being a sprayer. No ideas yet? Just begin with your real name! I provide several designs for each and every letter. You can search for letters by clicking on the buttons on the top . Create your first Graffiti Tag in this way . So in depth : 1. obtain a marker on this occasion ; not a pencil; Tags look a lot better if you are using the correct marker – I used a Edding 500 Marker to the example Tag below. The Grog Cutter 08 XFP – Death Black is a very good marker also and less expensive . 2. obtain a small note 3. Go to our variety of Graffiti Letters 4. Search for your letters on your name Example. I choose the saying “Ether”. 5. You can optionally add drips, arrows and big serifs as highlights for a Tag like I did.

STEP 1: Trace your graffiti tag. If you used a marker you will probably predict the Graffiti Tag in the event you put a notepad into it . So your first task would it be to follow the perimeters of the lines with a pencil. But leave some space between the edge of the marker along with your new pencil line. So the letter gets bigger. The result may need to look such as the image shown below. Not that bad actually, but you want to improve.

STEP 2: Improve the graffiti. The form of the whole Graffiti is important also . The “E” at the start is larger compared to “R” ultimately . So I thought we would make it smaller and add arrows on both sides to help it become a concise form.(red) I also added serifs or made them more advanced .(blue circles). In typography, a serif could be the small extra stroke purchased at the final in the main vertical and horizontal strokes of some letters. In Graffiti you frequently rely on them to make you Piece more technical . I also added forms which improve the dynamic of the graffiti and help it become more technical.

The result looks just like the image below. This step usually implies a great deal of trials and errors and takes a while . So don’t be sad if your Graffiti immediately will not look like you need to . Even should you are practised to draw in Graffiti, this step will require some time and intensive use of the eraser.

STEP 3: Redraw the lines having a fineliner. The next step is less difficult . Take your Copic Markers Multiliner 0.5 or even a Fineliner pen and redraw your pencil lines. Wait a little while afterwards permit along with dry after which erase every one of the pencil lines. The result should look like this.

A cheap printer with copy function like Canon PIXMA MG3620 or a similar product must do the work . I use a previous version of this printer series and it works well but there are lots of others which work quite similar.

STEP 4: Color your graffiti piece. To make the coloring more complex , I recommend you to definitely always draw gradients. In this case i colored the entire Graffiti Piece in one big gradient. If you want to build your piece to look even more technical , you`ll have to include a different gradient to each and every letter. The Copic Ciao markers are very beneficial to drawing gradients. I have not achieved it with another marker yet.

Which color scheme to pick ? In general I recommend you to use complementary colors for – foreground and background – or – fill-ins and shadows. If you want to use more colors, you should utilize colors from your color shade of just one with the 2 colors or near them on the colour wheel. You can also just search for a Graffiti within our blog or on Google Image search and copy along with scheme. If you are a beginner, this process might fit well.

STEP 5: Drawing the shadows Choose a point below the Graffiti where all the shadow blocks bring about . Like shown inside the photo below. Now choose how big the blocks should be . I took 1,5cm (1/2 inches) as length in cases like this .

Now require a ruler and tap into every corner with the Graffiti a 1 .5cm (1/2 inches) long line to the chosen point. Then, connect the lines parallel to the Graffiti outline. The results are blocks, which you`ll fill with color.

Fill the Blocks with black. If you want more complex shadows you can add fake light spots with brighter areas inside middle transitioning to dark areas about the outside like done inside the example.

STEP 6: Second outline and background The term “Second outline” describes the fishing line around the whole Graffiti. In this case I choose the complementary color to orange – blue. As a credentials I added bubbles and drips inside same color.

STEP 7: Optionally add highlights, your name-tag and the year of creation The gradient as Fill-In maybe is too boring or seems not complex enough. So you can additional add lines and shapes across the Fill-In. Common shapes are bubbles, rectangles, arrows, refelections or outlines of shapes. Usually they`re colored in a darker color shade of the color below ones . They can even be added to the background.

To complete your artwork, add your Name-Tag and the entire year of creation. If you are or might be a person in a crew, then include the abbreviation of the crew.
