Draw the first tag. After you have done your first Graffiti, visit our Collection of Graffiti Letters. Think about a name you want to use as a sprayer. No ideas yet? Just start off using your real name! I provide several designs per letter. You can search for letters by clicking on the buttons on the top . Create your first Graffiti Tag in this way . So detail by detail : 1. get a marker on this occasion ; not just a pencil; Tags look much better if you use the proper marker – I used a Edding 500 Marker to the example Tag below. The Grog Cutter 08 XFP – Death Black is really a very good marker as well and more cost effective . 2. obtain a piece of paper 3. Go to our number of Graffiti Letters 4. Search to the letters for your name Example. I choose the saying “Ether”. 5. You can optionally add drips, arrows and big serifs as highlights for a Tag like I did.

How I started to draw in graffiti. Starting-out is obviously difficult. This is why I want to explain how I did it . My first Graffiti was “Limp Bizkit” through the album cover from “Significant other”. Do you know it? I loved this rock band whilst still being love em and decided to attract it because it impressed me. I was lucky and was quite content with my first drawing.

So this really is my first part of you is: 1. get a pencil 2. obtain a piece of paper 3. have an eraser 4. search for a Graffiti that suits you with Google Image Search, in which you can easily identify the letters. For Instance “simple style Graffiti” could be used like a search term . 5. and draw it!

Maybe you will need a number of tries at first . This is not even attempt to be worried about . Noone is often a professional without delay . So practice, practice, practice, practice! I know you will make it!

How to draw in graffiti: a graffiti piece in 7 steps : You have redrawn the first Graffiti? You have created a Tag? Nice! So let’s go forward !. Graffiti Pieces are incredibly complex. To begin , I would recommend you to take your tag and transform it in to a Graffiti Piece. Every Graffiti Piece includes these parts: 1. The Fill-In: colored areas 2. the outline: colored or black line around the fill-ins 3. a 3D-shadow 4. a background 5. an additional outline round the whole piece 6. optionally: the tag name from the sprayer 7. optionally: highlights 8. optionally: the entire year of creation.

I use the following materials: 1. regular piece of paper – e.g.: printing paper 2. soft uncolored eraser 3. pencil with 2B mine hardness 4. Fine Liners for Highlights and small areas 5. Copic Markers Multiliner 0.5 for outlines 6. At least a basis group of Copic Ciao markers for Fill-ins. I have the top group of Copic Ciao markers markers!. So, let’s dive straight to it:

In the first part I will discuss how I started and provide the first hint the place to start out. The second part is often a tutorial, which can be separated into two parts. The first part has the steps in your first Graffiti Tag. The second the first is about transforming the Graffiti Tag in a Graffiti Piece. Let’s go!

STEP 1: Trace your graffiti tag. If you used a marker you`ll likely look out of the Graffiti Tag in case you put a piece of paper into it . So the first task could it be in order to the perimeters in the lines with a pencil. But leave a small amount of space between your edge with the marker as well as your new pencil line. So the letter gets bigger. The result need to look much like the image shown below. Not that bad actually, but we want to improve.

STEP 2: Improve the graffiti. The form in the whole Graffiti is very important also . The “E” in the beginning is larger compared to the “R” ultimately . So I decided to ensure it is smaller and add arrows on both sides to allow it to be a compressed form.(red) I also added serifs or made them more technical .(blue circles). In typography, a serif may be the small extra stroke available at the final with the main vertical and horizontal strokes of some letters. In Graffiti it`s easy to use them to make you Piece more technical . I also added forms which enhance the dynamic from the graffiti and make it more technical.

The result looks such as the image below. This step usually implies plenty of trials and errors and takes some time . So don’t be sad if the Graffiti immediately doesn`t seem like you would like to . Even if you are practised to attract Graffiti, this step will need a little while and intensive use in the eraser.

STEP 3: Redraw the lines with a fineliner. The next step is less difficult . Take your Copic Markers Multiliner 0.5 or possibly a Fineliner pen and redraw your pencil lines. Wait a while afterwards permit along with dry and then erase every one of the pencil lines. The result should look similar to this.

A cheap printer with copy function like Canon PIXMA MG3620 or a similar product have to do the work . I use a previous version on this printer series and delay pills work well but there are numerous others which work quite similar.

STEP 4: Color your graffiti piece. To make the coloring more technical , I recommend that you always draw gradients. In this case i colored the entire Graffiti Piece in a big gradient. If you wish to help make your piece to look even more technical , you`ll need to include a different gradient to each and every letter. The Copic Ciao markers are incredibly great for drawing gradients. I have not achieved it with another marker yet.

Which color scheme to select ? In general I recommend you to use complementary colors for – foreground and background – or – fill-ins and shadows. If you want to use more colors, you need to use colors in the color shade of a single with the 2 colors or near them on along with wheel. You can also just visit a Graffiti in our blog or on Google Image search and copy the color scheme. If you are a beginner, this process might fit well.

STEP 5: Drawing the shadows Choose an area below the Graffiti where all of the shadow blocks lead to . Like shown in the photo below. Now choose how big the blocks should be . I took 1,5cm (1/2 inches) as length in such cases .

Now require a ruler and draw from every corner with the Graffiti single .5cm (1/2 inches) long line to the chosen point. Then, connect the lines parallel towards the Graffiti outline. The results are blocks, which you`ll want to fill with color.

Fill the Blocks with black. If you want more advanced shadows you can fake light spots with brighter areas within the middle transitioning to dark areas around the outside like done in the example.

STEP 6: Second outline and background The term “Second outline” describes the queue throughout the whole Graffiti. In this case I choose the complementary color to orange – blue. As a credentials I added bubbles and drips inside same color.

STEP 7: Optionally add highlights, your name-tag and the season of creation The gradient as Fill-In maybe is simply too boring or seems not complex enough. So you can additional add lines and shapes across the Fill-In. Common shapes are bubbles, rectangles, arrows, refelections or outlines of shapes. Usually they`re colored in a very darker color shade in the color below of them . They can also be added to the background.

To complete your artwork, add your Name-Tag and 4 seasons of creation. If you are or might be a member of a crew, then also add the abbreviation of your crew.
